Hevalth

Hevalth is made up of six continents and seven islands. Long ago, the Continental War left civilizations in shambles. To find peace, the world leaders gathered and created the Continental Security Commission. This group watches over each continent and subsequent countries, throwing anyone who disobeys peace into the Eternal Prison. The choosing process for CSC members is highly competitive and invite-only. While they strictly monitor the continents, they will also intervene in island squabbles if deemed necessary.
A Brief History
This does not reflect the events of book 2 and 3

The goal of the Continental Security Commission is to keep peace and prevent another continental war by heavily monitoring each leader's decisions. Currently, each continent has two appointed CSC members watching over them except Phanteous, which was deemed too depraved yet poor to initiate a war, thus not a threat to peace.
During the Continental War, mag(ic) was used freely and caused extremely drastic damage, destroying nearly 65% of the population. To further maintain peace, the CSC created a series of exams to unlock the use of mag(ic). The most well-known exam is the International Exam, taken to become an Expedition Overseer. After a series of challenges, those who pass receive a barcode tattoo to signify they are of higher status, and receive the title of a 'hero.' They are given 1 million quill and the promise of first-class treatment anywhere, among many other advantages, one of which is secret to the common folk of the world. To keep their status, Expedition Overseers must complete up to four expeditions a year, either collecting bounties, and magical items or capturing magical creatures.
Six of the seven islands had little to do with the Continental War, and only one was breached by a group of non-Royal conquerors at that time. Aside from Abberstein, the aforementioned seventh island, all other islands are run by royalty in the form of monarchies. The six kings have a unified group called The Kingship, where they discuss trade. Because of the island's close ties, the royal children are all accustomed to each other.
After the war, families bred to be bounty hunters became much more popular, and bounty hunting became an established trade. These families made it easier for the CSC to put out hits on criminals, providing money to do less of the work. There are currently four main families of bounty hunters. While these families do work for the CSC, there is but another group of assassins known as the Five Swordsmen. They will take jobs from any government, though they favor the Kings, and are known to be the toughest fighters.
While it may seem as though everything is peaceful in Hevalth, this may merely be the calm before the storm. Hundreds of years after the Continental War, there is unrest within the Kingship. Not all is as it seems within Hevalth's established hierarchies, and something appears to be brewing. No one is innocent, and no one is a hero.

Where It AllBegan

Where the five main characters hail from at the start of Book 1
A country entirely made up of lush green fields and hills. Edna is ran by the Farmers Director's Board, and 100% of the population are farmers. Due to high taxation and not enough pay for their work, many citizens have been pushed out to neighboring countries.

Reinta is a small, remote village on the outskirts of mountains and in barren terrain. There are neighboring villages, however, they do not interact beyond trade. The residents live in huts, and use the nearby river to bathe. Citizens do not leave the village, and if they do, they are not to return without punishment.

A country divided by a wall. Inner New Guayi is beside the world's largest freshwater supply, and thus trades with the island of Ishla, who distributes the freshwater to the other islands. There is fresh soil and robust wealth. Outer New Guayi is in poverty. They have no plumbing, no formal mailing addresses, and not enough food or water. The system has yet to be contested.

The country of Honel is separated from its bordering countries by a long mountain range. Within the mountain range, in an unmarked mansion, lives a prestigious bounty hunting family. Their whereabouts are nearly impossible to desern. Whether it be the dangerous magical creatures lurking in the mountains or the family itself, no intruder has ever returned.

The royal family of Ishla - the Sandoval's - live in a castle on the other side of a large wall and away from society. The closest town is Avala, where a lively port is located. Citizens are treated fairly and equally, and no one is left without a job or home. While the King has strict rules for his children to stay at the castle, a particular princess tends to ignore his wishes.
